Raise the Xamarin.Forms-Button clicked event in a renderer.

I just wrote a renderer to use a Hyperlink-Button in my Xamarin.Forms application. Since the default representation of a button on iOS uses a hyperlink style there’s no need to create an iOS renderer. So here’s my UWP renderer: [assembly: ExportRenderer(typeof(LinkButton), typeof(LinkButtonRenderer))] namespace InventoryCatalogApp.Windows10.Renderers {     public class LinkButtonRenderer : ViewRenderer<LinkButton, HyperlinkButton>     {         #region Overrides of ViewRenderer<LinkButton,HyperlinkButton>         protected override void OnElementChanged(ElementChangedEventArgs<LinkButton> e)...

Serialize an Entity Framework entity to JSON (Newtonsoft.Json)

Everytime when it comes to serializing an entity the navigation properties may lead to circular references and crashing the serialization process. Of course there’re configuration settings that can be adjusted but I wanted a solution for any developer consuming these entities should be able to json-serialize them. Well there’re quite a lot arguments against serializing and using entities in a web service but also at...

Xamarin.Forms Gesture-Pattern-Login

Currently I’m working on an APP for one of my customers where we need the opportunity to sign in using a gesture-pattern. Since I was not able to find an existing Xamarin.Forms solution to serve all platforms on the web I created my very own one. You find the whole source code of my Xamarin.Forms GesturePatternView on GitHub. From a design perspective it’s quite Android-like....

Xamarin.Forms won’t navigate to a view containing a Telerik RadListView

Here’s my setup: Xamarin.Forms 2.3.2.127 Telerik UI for Xamarin Q3 2016 Visual Studio 2015 Update 2 Issue: Navigating to the view which contains the RadListView is correctly called in the code but not firing in the APP (= the new page won’t show up). There’s neither an error displayed in the...

By default, the packages are stored in the packages-folder in the solution’s root folder. So if you use project X both in solution A and solution B the...

Using the Xamarin iOS Simulator for Windows

Yesterday Xamarin 4.2 was released and with it some major features I think the majority of Xamarin devs (espacially on Windows) were waiting for: Xamarin.Forms Previewer Xamarin iOS Simulator for Windows   Xamarin.Forms Previewer The Xamarin.Forms Previewer still has some issues showing non-simple XAML (e.g. with markup extensions for translation) but it makes designing Xamarin.Forms views a lot simpler. You can find the Xamarin.Forms Previewer...

Blank pages and missing styles on IIS websites

Blank pages and missing styles on IIS websites

I just downloaded a Sencha ExtJs application from a customer’s test-server to check some new features of the API I’m currently working on. A few weeks ago I reset my dev-environment and since then I came across some issues with the WebApi docu pages (the styles were missing) but never took the time to check the reason. But back to the web application. The download...
